With 2019 coming to a close, it’s important that you finish the year the right way.
And no, we’re not talking about where you choose to party on New Year’s Eve (although we can definitely give you some pointers on that too!). We’re talking about hashing out your corporate 2020 event strategy, which of course means taking your learnings from 2019 to help you kick off 2020 the right way.
No matter how big or small your team, you’ll need to make time to review past events, set goals for the future, and make a strategic plan for the year ahead! There’s nothing like the feeling that comes with turning this year’s mistakes into next year’s successes.
There’s a number of things that you should focus on when it comes to reviewing 2019, including your successes, where you could improve (we don’t like to call them failures!), and what your return on investment was. Think about what you did brilliantly and celebrate your achievements, whether that’s regarding seamless customer service or reaching attendee numbers. Next make note on how you can improve for next time – streamlining processes and reassessing certain tactics for your next event.
Know your values
When it comes to hosting events, knowing your brand – and your target clientele, is key. Take a time out and assess what your brand values are, what your clear mission is. Then, use the data you have. Have your customers changed? If so, is there anything else you can do to reach your new target audience? All of this will help you smash your 2020 event strategy.
Take on 2020
There are two things that you need to focus on – your customer’s needs and the company needs. Is there something you can provide your target audience that no other brand can? What value can you provide them with? You’ll also need to ensure that your event strategy focuses on getting the right results for your business. Whether it’s company growth or brand awareness, know what you need and focus on getting it.
Make it happen
Next… it’s time to make it happen! Execute all of your ideas and turn them into an actionable plan that gains the results for your business and your target audience. Ensure that you’ve got the right team behind you to make your vision a reality. And finally – processes. While having amazing ideas might seem like enough, if you don’t have the tools, tactics and processes to make them work you’re not going to achieve what you’re hoping for.
When it comes to events, there’s no right or wrong. All you can do is learn from your past mistakes, rectify them and start 2020 on the right foot. Need to speak to an events planner? The event planners at Baroq are here to help. Contact us today on firstname.lastname@example.org or
